BRAINRAVEN

The hands-on experience to teach life-skills to young people by working with the brain.
Created by a neuroscientist.

WHO'S BEHIND IT?

BrainRaven was created by Dr. Mike Tranter, a neuroscientist and award-winning science author. After years in research labs and making neuroscience simple and exciting for the public, he’s building BrainRaven to put that same fun and understanding directly into the hands of the young people who stand to gain the most.

A BRAIN EXPERIENCE

Every box is a sealed experience, an adventure your child uncovers for themselves.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO LEARN

BrainRaven turns neuroscience into something you can hold. Each box is a guided, hands-on adventure. Part experiment, part story, part game! It teaches a child real-world life-skills by letting them experience how their brain works.
The Savvy Brain box helps them navigate the modern world, spotting misinformation, understanding how they’re influenced online, and thinking clearly in a world built to mislead them.

BUILT FOR THE CHILDREN WHO NEED IT MOST

The pressures of growing up online with misinformation, manipulation, and the pull of the screen, often fall hardest on young people who have the least support to navigate them. These are exactly the skills that protect a young person’s choices, confidence, and future, and they’re rarely taught in schools.
BrainRaven exists to close that gap by putting genuine, neuroscience-backed learning into the hands of young people across the UK.

BRAINRAVEN'S MISSION

BrainRaven's mission is to give young people, whatever their background, the life skills school doesn't teach. We do this through hands-on neuroscience, showing young people how their brain works so they can work with it. The young people who most need these skills are often the least able to access them. So we commit to:1. Not letting a family's income decide a young person's access to the best learning
2. Using 5% of our profits to fund free boxes for disadvantaged young people, libraries and community organisations.
3. Prioritising free access for young people facing financial disadvantage and those in the UK's most deprived areas.
4. Designing with young people, not just for them, by testing every box with teenagers, parents and teachers.
5. Never using any young person's or family's circumstances in our marketing.

JOIN THE FIRST FAMILIES IN THE PILOT

We’re running our first pilot with young people and families across the UK, and we’re looking for people who’d like to take part. If you, or the children in your life, would like to be involved, register your interest below and we’ll be in touch.
